Florence Shakes is the founder and visionary of BBSI who is married to the co-founder Wesley Shakes.

She has successfully accomplished numerous diplomas in areas including ministry. She has completed a Diploma of Charismatic Studies from the Indiana Christian University (ICU) and has also completed a Diploma by the London Academy of Dress Making and Design. She also holds a certificate for Ministry Leadership.

She has a natural unique and rare ability to be a mother to everyone in need. Whether it is a place to stay, an ear to listen, arms to comfort, advice to be given, "Mother Shakes" as she is well known, is always available to assist with your needs, whatever they may be. She is a 24-hour hotline to everyone as she is constantly available to all.

Her ministry is endless as she has the gift to minister in different areas such as Mental Care, The elderly, Sunday school for children and Evangelism. She is also gifted in ministering the word and is often called to preach at different churches where many have been blessed. She is a virtuous woman who is filled with great faith, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. She is blessed that every word that she speaks from a vision from the Lord happens.

Presently Florence Shakes is continuing her hard work visiting those who are sick and needy in hospitals and homes. She was recently awarded The National Social Justice Champion Award 2003 in recognition for her outstanding commitment and contribution to social action.
