The Training School is designed to provide vocational skills in various
technical trades. All programs will culminate with the government trade test
examination so as they will have a certificate to prove their ability in the
desired field of their choice.
On completion and when leaving the home each child will be provided with
basic technical tools, equipment and capital so they will be able to settle down
and be self-sufficient and pursue their chosen career.
Follow up checks will be made by the centre’s social worker to ensure
that they are fully settled and integrated into the community.
The training school will consist of:
• MECHANICAL ROOM
This is where the children will learn about the mechanical trade through theory
and practical lessons.
• CARPENTRY/JOINERY ROOM
This is where they will learn how to become Carpenters/Joiners.
• AGRICULTURAL/FARMING
This is where they will learn to design and make modern, traditional and western
clothes.
• TAILORING AND DRESSMAKING
This is where they will learn pottery, decorative design and handicrafts.
• PAINTING, ART AND CRAFTS
This is where they will eat their school lunches
• PAINTING AND DECORATING
This is where they will learn various skills, such as wallpapering, sanding,
painting, plastering, tiling etc. All rooms will be equipped with all the
necessary equipment so they can learn both the theory and practical side.
