BBSI Founder – Florence Shakes
Florence Shakes is the founder and visionary of BBSI who is married to the co-founder Wesley Shakes.
She has successfully accomplished numerous diplomas in areas including ministry. She has completed a Diploma of Charismatic Studies from the Indiana Christian University (ICU) and has also completed a Diploma by the London Academy of Dress Making and Design. She also holds a certificate for Ministry Leadership.
She has a natural unique and rare ability to be a mother to everyone in need. Whether it is a place to stay, an ear to listen, arms to comfort, advice to be given, “Mother Shakes” as she is well known, is always available to assist with your needs, whatever they may be. She is a 24-hour hot-line to everyone as she is constantly available to all.
Her ministry is endless as she has the gift to minister in different areas such as Mental Care, The elderly, Sunday school for children and Evangelism. She is also gifted in ministering the word and is often called to preach at different churches where many have been blessed. She is a virtuous woman who is filled with great faith, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. She is blessed that every word that she speaks from a vision from the Lord happens.
Presently Florence Shakes is continuing her hard work visiting those who are sick and needy in hospitals and homes. She was recently awarded The National Social Justice Champion Award 2003 in recognition for her outstanding commitment and contribution to social action.
BBSI Co- founder – Wesley Shakes
Wesley Shakes is the Co-founder and shares the vision of BBSI with his wife Florence Shakes.
In addition to extensive ministry and Pastoral experience, he also has over 30 years experience as an electrical and mechanical engineer with London Transport. He was awarded and honoured with a high level certificate after passing an exam for electrical installation from City and Guilds London. He also holds a Diploma with honours from the Central Bible Institute in Birmingham and London. This involved an extensive 3 years studying in Systematic Biblical and practical Theology.
His vast ministry experience includes Mental Care, Evangelism, The elderly, Teacher for the Men’s Ministry and working in different high security prisons ministering the word to inmates. Wesley Shakes also ministers the word in a variety of different churches where people are blessed.
Wesley Shakes demonstrates a very strict and discipline faith who helps and encourages others to live by the word, leading by example. He is very effective in his counselling work, which along with his other duties; he does on a regular basis.
Daddy Shakes, as he is well known, has an extremely strong knowledge and understanding of scripture and can refer to a particular scripture to handle any situation when ministering to others.
He is totally devoted and supportive to his wife and the vision and shares the roles and responsibilities with her and together they continue to visit those who are sick and needy in hospitals, care homes and individual’s homes.
