OUR WORK

We house orphans from the Kibera slums who have no one to care for them. We provide vital stability and love in a Christian loving family environment.

We have so far built a home that consists of three dormitories, kitchen, large dining hall and boys and girls bathrooms.

The children are brought up as a family unit and given much needed love, security, hope and belief, along with various life skills.  The home has been up and running since 4th December 2008 and currently houses twenty (20) children.

The Training School is designed to provide vocational skills in various technical trades. All programs will include a governmental trade test examination in the desired field. The school teaches mechanics, carpentry/joinery, farming, tailoring, dressmaking, art, painting and decorating.

Once they leave the home each child will be provided with basic technical tools, equipment and capital so that they can pursue their chosen career. The necessary checks will be made by the centre’s social worker to ensure that they are fully settled and integrated into the community.

Farm

The farm is to provide food for the children and to helps those in need in the local community; supplying livestock such as chickens and cows. In addition there will be vegetables such as maize, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, cassava, plantain and other local vegetables. There will also be an orchard where various fruits are grown.

Medical Centre

The medical centre provides vital health checks and medical care for the children.

Children’s School

The future school will provide primary and secondary education and will aim to meet or even surpass the national pass rates of other schools. Included in the school will be:

  • Computer room
  • Science laboratory
  • Classrooms
  • Gymnasium/sports field
  • Canteen
